Sunday D&D in Review: September 8th, 2013

With all the gold and other loot that was acquired from the dragon hordes we took a week off, of sorts.  More like a bus mans holiday.  We all spent the time studying tomes or working on projects.  This holiday came abruptly to an end when our senchle ran in wild eyed going on about a talking dog.  Of all the things this man has seen us do, and the rumors that must be going on, I would think a talking dog really is rather mild, but perhaps it was just too much.

Upon hearing about a talking dog in our throne room we investigate.  This dog turns out to be a messenger.  It has come to his mistress's attention that our group has been a serious problem for some not to good people.  The Red Wizards of Thane and few others are displeased with us and have hired the best assassins to find and kill us.  It was bound to happen.

Immediately we got to work brainstorming possible solutions to protect our keep and the peasantry.  It was finally agreed upon to make it so nobody could simply teleport or dimensional door in.  Once that was agreed upon we went to work.  It was during this time that the town was attacked.

Upon hearing the alarm sound from the Innkeeper/Mayor we dimensioned doored on down.  Killed the annoying dragon kin, black, and his troop.  There was only two casualties in the town, who were resurrected.  The town garrison was outfitted quite well from the resulted gear the assassins had so graciously sent.

It was discussed briefly that we should take all the heads and send them to the Red Wizards asking for more gear but we decided against that.  Our plan in the future will be to track down this assassin enclave and make the world a few assassins short.  Sending the heads would give the assassins a head up on our coming and we wouldn't want that.

Sunday D&D in Review: September 1st, 2012

After the discovery of the dragon burials with the bones missing it was determined that the we needed to track down the bones and possibly retrieve them. After collecting some bone fragments we were able to preform a ritual that allowed us to follow and track the bones. The final destination being a location called Om, deep in the south.

Upon teleporting near the location it was discovered that Om was protected by five undead dragons. The nearest dragon, a blue, was willing to talk to us and explained somethings. Each dragon had their own section that they were required to guard. There were some phylacteries being used to compel the dragons. Destroying these phylacteries would break the compulsion and the dragons would be free to do as they wish, including dying (again). It was this last that the blue dragon wished for.

With this information we continued on until we ran across the white dragon, this is the one we started with. After killing the white dragon we continued onto Om, trying to be stealthy with very little success. We managed to interrupt the ritual that was being used to summon and compel the C+ black dragon. During the battle one enemy combatant managed to bang a gong that apparently alerted and summoned the remaining dragons. As the dragons attacked and the party fought Flint, the artificer, broke all the phy freeing the dragons wills, at this point the blue dragon assisted us in the battle. Not out of any positive motivation, he felt we had a deal. We freed him from his compulsion he assists us, further he had motives.

After the battle the blue dragon approached us and made an offer, he show us where all the dragons hords were if we agreed to bury him under a slab of concrete with half of the hordes in an unmarked grave. He hated being awakened from the dead and did not want it happening again. We agreed.
